IOI Corporation Berhad (IOI) hosted our fifth annual Sustainability Consultation Forum (SCF) on 25 August 2025 at IOI Headquarters, reaffirming our commitment to ensuring stakeholder voices remain central in the Group’s just transition towards achieving net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emission by 2040.

Bringing together over 60 physical and online participants, the forum convened external representatives from global organisations, industry experts, strategic partners and the private sector, alongside IOI’s senior leadership and management team. Notable attendees included several members of IOI’s Board of Directors, Group Managing Director & Chief Executive Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor and Chief Sustainability Officer Dr Surina Ismail.

This year’s SCF, titled “Strengthening Climate and Workforce Resilience at IOI,” provided an open platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative dialogue. Key discussions focused on IOI’s GHG mitigation and climate adaptation efforts, as well as exploring holistic strategies to promote local participation in the plantation sector, enhancing gender inclusivity and creating meaningful career pathways for employees.

Moderated in a hybrid format by the UK and Malaysia-based Helikonia Advisory, the SCF has been a cornerstone of IOI’s inclusive stakeholder engagement approach since 2021. Each year, the forum addressed various key sustainability topics, such as ethical recruitment, net zero pathway, supply chain decarbonisation and biodiversity enhancement. This year’s forum added significance as it aligned with IOI’s new five-year Strategic Roadmap (launched in January 2025), to elevate the Group’s climate ambitions and sustainability practices under Strategic Priority 4, through continuous innovation and responsible growth.

Insights from the SCF have consistently shaped IOI’s sustainability strategies and programmes, reinforcing the importance of open dialogues in driving real progress. A summary of this year’s discussion and the key takeaways will be published in an Executive Summary on IOI’s website soon.
