Innovation Inspires Progress At IOI

IOI Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Dato' Lee Yeow Chor said: “Innovation without implementation is just an idea; innovation without value is just being clever; actionable innovation is the key.” His words on innovation inspired the spirit of IOI Innovation Convention 2026 (IIC 2026), held at the Eugenia Ballroom, Palm Garden Golf Club on 24 June 2026.
Following the success of the previous bi-annual conventions in 2022 and 2024, this year’s third IIC event reflected IOI’s continued commitment of fostering a culture of growing innovation and continuous improvement. The IIC attracted a record 27 submissions, with 14 shortlisted presentations by teams from IOI Corporation Berhad’s operations in Malaysia and Germany.

Aligned with IOI’s strategic priorities, IIC 2026 provided a platform for employees to share ideas, exchange knowledge and demonstrate how innovation can create value across the organisation. The projects showcased innovative and practical solutions, ranging from digitalisation and process optimisation to renewable energy and automation initiatives.

Dato' Lee Yeow Chor, together with judges IOI Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer Mr Tan Kean Hua, Group Chief Financial Officer Mr Kong Kian Beng, IOI Plantation Director Mr NB Sudhakaran and Director of Commodity Marketing Mr Lim Jit Uei had a challenging task of selecting the winners from a strong field of innovative projects.
The hybrid event drew 120 employees in person and a further 234 employees online from across Malaysia, Indonesia and Germany.
Congratulations to the winners and their innovation projects and well done to all the participating teams for their dedication and innovation. We look forward to seeing more innovative solutions that will continue to strengthen IOI and create lasting value for the future.
