IOI Foundation Awards RM375,000 in Scholarships to 10 Outstanding Students

IOI Foundation (formerly known as Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng) has awarded RM375,000 in scholarships to 10 outstanding students from diverse backgrounds during a scholarship presentation ceremony held at IOI Headquarters in IOI Resort City on 20 November 2023.

At the occasion, IOI Corporation Berhad's (IOI) Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor, who is also the Trustee of IOI Foundation, and the Executive Director of IOI Foundation Datin Joanne Wong took their busy time off to meet and greet the future leaders of IOI.

Datin Joanne kicked off the ceremony with a welcome remark, followed by inspiring sharing from two internal speakers Mr Chai Tian Siang and Ms Wendy Ng respectively. The ceremony concluded with an engagement session and photography with Dato’ Lee, followed by a delightful refreshment session.

To date, the Foundation has disbursed more than RM11.5 million worth of scholarships to more than 347 students since its introduction. The Foundation fulfils the Group’s corporate social responsibility via education, community welfare, medical assistance and the promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) subjects that help enrich the lives of the less fortunate.

Some of the Foundation’s initiatives are the Young Achievers’ Awards, Student Adoption Programme, STEM programme and collaborations with non-profit organisations such as HUMANA (Borneo Child Aid Society) in supporting the education of estate workers’ children and native children, respectively, in East Malaysia.
