a) IOI Community Run
 |
At the starting point...participants run for a good cause
|
IOI launched its inaugural IOI Community Run in 2005 to promote
healthy living and foster closer ties among the Puchong communities.
The overwhelming response from the public and increasing
interest in running as a healthy activity drew over 2,300 participants from
different nationalities that gathered to run for a good cause. Besides lively
performances and fun-filled events, IOI also made donations to two orphanages
and six schools in Puchong.
IOI organised its second IOI Community Run in 2006 with equal
success drawing 2,500 participants to run around Bandar Puteri Puchong.

b) Rakan Cop Programme
With the aim to create a safe township and to forge better
co-operation between the Police and the Puchong communities, IOI Properties
together with Rakan Cop launched the Rakan Cop programme for the Puchong
district on 10 March 2007.
Amongst the measures taken to heighten public awareness on
crime prevention, security and safety include installing mini hoarding boards
bearing Rakan Cop’s information and police station’s hotline numbers at various
strategic locations in Puchong; distributing related leaflets, posters and car
stickers and posting information on anti criminal and crime prevention on IOI’s
community website.

Through this programme, the public is encouraged to act as
police lookouts and provide information on crime to the Police’s Command Centre
through its hotline and SMS.
c) Police Station
IOI fully funded the construction of a police station equipped
with hostels in Bandar Puchong Jaya, one of its flagship townships in Puchong.
IOI also sponsored 10 patrol cars for that police station.
