IOI also plays an active part in caring for the environment and the endangered wildlife species. Some of the initiatives include:

a) A deer farm at Nangoh Estate, Sabah to instill public interest to care for them and prevent them from extinction.

b) A mini zoo and garden park at Sagil Estate, Tangkak, Johor.

c) A Proboscis monkey (Nasalis carvatus) sanctuary at Bayok Estate, Sabah.

d) The cultivation of soft to semi-hard wood jungle trees in flood-prone areas to save the orang utan and other wildlife species.

e) Tree houses at Tindakon and Bayok estates in Sabah to create awareness among the younger generation on the importance of the environment and conservation areas.
