The IOI Research Centre (formerly Dunlop Research Centre)
is widely known and recognised for her contribution towards the successful
development of the rubber and cocoa plantation industries in Malaysia.
The strong R&D tradition and culture are kept intact as the company
embarks on the aggressive and extensive cultivation of oil palm in Peninsular
Malaysia and Sabah.
 Experienced research
personnel and staff of the well-equipped research center based in Peninsular
Malaysia and Sabah provide the much needed agricultural and agronomic
services to the plantation. The main products or services provided are:
IOI Deli x AVROS Hybrid Oil Palm Planting Material, IOI Oil Palm Clones,
IOI Agronomic Advisory Services and IOI Analytical Laboratory Services.
IOI Research Centre, located in Batang Melaka, Negeri
Sembilan, is a fully equipped R&D centre supported by experienced
personnel that provides agronomic services for the Group's plantations
in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah. The R&D centre provides services
in four specialised agronomic fields :
IOI Deli x AVROS Hybrid OIL PALM PLANTING MATERIAL
The IOI Deli x AVROS Hybrid oil palm planting material is the
product of the oil palm breeding and selection programme. Breeding is
geared towards developing oil palm planting material with high oil yield
through high fresh fruit bunch (FFB) yield and high oil to bunch ratio.
A wide array of oil palm germplasms has been assembled to ensure the continued
improvement of the oil palm planting material in the future. The IOI Deli
x AVROS Hybrid has been proven in progeny trials, comparative trials and
commercial plantations. The IOI Deli x AVROS Hybrid is high yielding and
widely adaptable to various oil palm growing areas.

IOI OIL PALM CLONES
 The IOI oil palm clones are produced in the IOI
Tissue Culture Laboratory, a modern state-of-the-art tissue culture laboratory.
Elite palms, selected from statistically well-designed
breeding trials, are vegetatively propagated as clonal oil palm planting
material.
The high oil yield of clonal oil palm planting material
will ensure higher profitability for the plantation.
