More than RM50,000 of cash prizes and certificates were awarded to 126 recipients who scored well in their UPSR, PMR, SPM, STPM and A-Levels examination at the Young Achievers’ Awards 2011 presentation ceremony held at Palm Garden Hotel in recognition of their excellent academic achievements. Guest speaker Vince Chong, winner of the first season of the famous local talent show Akademi Fantasia, was invited to share his inspirational success story on how his perseverance contributed to his success in the music scene. All of the invited guests were then treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch at the hotel.

Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng recently visited about 40 disabled persons
and former drug addicts at Persatuan Kristian Shuang Fu situated in Kuala
Lumpur. They were treated to a sponsored buffet lunch, goodies bags and a
donation of RM5,000 to purchase 3 sets of LCD TV for their centres. A sing along
session, games and a presentation on how to help the disabled persons were
conducted. The sessions were informative and enjoyable. Persatuan Kristian
Shuang Fu is a charitable organization that provides vocational trainings to
enable the disabled persons and former drug addicts to have better job
opportunities.
IOI Group donated RM 5,850 to Rita Handicapped & Disabled Welfare Home to purchase one unit of the buttonholing machine for their sewing centre that aims to provide skills training to the handicapped, single mothers and teenage girls for a better future.

Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Ching (YTSLSC) funded RM334, 679 to 343 of its adopted students from 157 primary and secondary schools in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah under its annual Student Adoption Programme this year. About 100 delighted students from the 25 adopted schools in Klang Valley received their cheques and school bags on 11 January 2011 at the IOI Mall Puchong.

Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng has awarded eleven top students from various higher educational institutions in Malaysia up to RM302, 628 worth of scholarships in a presentation ceremony held at the Palm Garden Hotel recently. The Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng scholarship awards was established in 1994 with objective to provide financial assistance to bright students who excel academically and intend to pursue their higher education in local institutions.

93 recipients who scored well in the UPSR, PMR, SPM, STPM and A-Levels examination were awarded with the Young Achievers' Awards' plaques and cash prizes of above RM40, 000 at Palm Garden Hotel in recognition of their excellent performance. Guest speaker Norman Halim from KRU was invited to share his success story in climbing the Malaysian music scene and also showed some of his latest movie clips and animation touch-up tips in “Hotel Mania” (filmed in Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa) and “Merong Mahawangsa”.
Yayasan organised a magical treat for about 40 children and people with
disabilities at Persatuan Kanak-kanak Istimewa Kajang. They received sponsored
lunch, goodie bags comprising basic necessities, stationery, toys, snack food
and enjoyed an entertaining time with clowns and a 30-minute magic show.

In conjunction with Earth Hour 2010, IOI Group organised some fund-raising activities to raise funds for Malaysian Nature Society in aid of its Belum-Temengoh Conservation project. RM20,000 was raised from the sales of IOI’s Earth Hour t-shirts and candles.
In a partnership with local higher education institution, two bright students from INTI College Sabah were awarded the IOI Industry Awards in recognition of their excellent performance in academic studies and extra-curricular leadership.
