Once again, IOI Group observed Earth Hour on 23 March 2013. At the stroke of 8.30 pm, all non-essential lightings were switched off for one hour at IOI headquarter and its site offices. Palm Garden Hotel and IOI Mall Kulai also held activities to create public awareness to save Mother Earth.
The Community Service (CS) team of IOI Oleochemical, Prai organised a month-long donation drive to collect items required by the residents of Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Cacat Yee Ran Jing Sheh. A total of 253 items were handed over to the home.

Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa hosted the “Chinese New Year Charity & Corporate Appreciation Luncheon 2013” and invited senior citizens from Little Sisters of the Poor and Persatuan Rumah Caring Kajang. Feted to a sumptuous meal, they also happily received an angpow and goodie bag each.
Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa collaborated with Palm Garden Hotel to hold a “Breast Cancer Awareness Talk and Screening Campaign” to encourage early detection.

Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa hosted its first “Blood Donation Drive & Thalassemia Awareness Campaign”, in collaboration with Pusat Darah Negara and Thalassemia Association of Malaysia. It was a huge success thanks to generous donors from hotel’s guests and employees of IOI Group.
Yayasan TSLSC adopted 460 students from 167 primary and secondary schools nationwide under its Student Adoption Programme with contributions amounting to RM453,293 for 2013 academic year.
20 employees of IOI Loders Croklaan Europe participated in the Egmond Half Marathon to raise funds for “Move for MS (Multiple Sclerosis)”. The fund increases for every kilometre completed by the runners.

In conjunction with the Winter Solstice celebration, Yayasan TSLSC visited
Persatuan Rumah Amal Murni, Kajang (PRAM) and the volunteers cheered the
residents with tong yuen, entertaining performances, food and bags of goodies.
Children from Shepherd’s Home, Dengkil were in for a Christmas Charity treat
courtesy of Palm Garden Hotel. They enjoyed a delicious hi-tea, games and a
magical Santa Claus appearance.
Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa opened its doors for a Christmas Charity
Benefit 2012 to welcome 75 students from Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Kajang
and Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat. The students were treated to a
sumptuous Christmas-themed buffet and serenaded by the hotel’s in-house
carollers d’Flaming Reindeers. Gift bags from the hotel capped off a memorable
outing for the students.
IOI Mall, Puchong was filled with Christmas cheer during its “Heavenly Gift
with Community at Heart” charity project. Shoppers picked gifts for the needy,
and pledged to volunteer their time to help the less fortunate.
IOI Mall, Kulai did its bit to support World AIDS Day by organising
“YOUTHAIDS 2012” jointly with several government and non-governmental
organisations. The two-day event saw public participating in the awareness
exhibition and talk, Red Ribbon Message Wall, Red Ribbon Riding, among others.

Yayasan TSLSC awarded record RM1,334,960 to 25 scholarship recipients in
recognition of their excellent academic and extra-curricular activities. This
was the highest scholarship contribution since it started in 1998.
A group of volunteers from Community Service (CS) of IOI Oleochemical, Prai
took tins of paint to Seri Cahaya Home in Batu Maung, Penang and coated the
orphanage’s walls in new paint.

In conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Merdeka celebrations, Palm Garden Hotel welcomed 156 children from Sekolah Menengah Pendidikan Khas (Cacat Penglihatan) Setapak to its “Hari Raya Charity Open House”. Adding fun to the event, Gabungan Bikers Malaysia impressed the children with rides on Ducati and Can-Am superbikes. While enjoying a sumptuous dinner, the children were entertained by stage performances and received duit raya and goodie bags.
IOI Mall Bandar Putra, Kulai organised its “Pertandingan Bubur Lambuk Antara Masjid/Surau & Majlis Berbuka Puasa Bersama Anak-Anak Yatim” in conjunction with the Ramadan month celebration. Nine teams cooked delicious bubur lambuk to vie for the winning place, while IOI Mall staff prepared dodol to be sold to public. Funds raised were given to the orphans who also received RM50 duit raya each and hampers from IOI Mall.
Pan-Century Oils Sdn Bhd did good in “Fitrah Ramadan”, a noble initiative jointly organised by radio station Johor FM, local daily Sinar Harian and broadcaster RTM (Radio Televisyen Malaysia). Five single mothers and two less fortunate recipients received their Raya assistance for a memorable celebration.
