  • IOI Properties Hope for Change Badminton Charity Programme
    As part of its continuous efforts to be a responsible corporate citizen, IOI Properties Berhad is partnering with Michael's Badminton Academy (MBA) to conduct a 10-month badminton charity programme for the underprivileged group starting from March until December 2011. The programme was officially launched by IOI Property Director Dato' David Tan and Director of Michael's Badminton Academy on 16 March 2011 at Michael's Badminton Academy, Bandar Puteri Puchong.

    The programme aims to provide an opportunity for the children to learn, excel in sports as well as foster friendship and build team spirit during the trainings. About 70 children from the three participating homes namely Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih, Rumah Shalom and House of Joy are participating in the programme. Besides training and coaching in badminton, the children will also have the opportunity to participate in field trips, mentor programme and lastly participate in a badminton tournament.

  • Earth Month Go Green Campaign
    IOI as a Group continued its pledge to support Earth Hour 2010 and organised an Earth Month Go Green campaign themed “Changing the Climate Together with IOI” to give greater emphasis on the issues of climate change and global warming.

    During the campaign, IOI launched a 3-bin recycle system at its headquarters to promote the 5Rs (Refuse, Repair, Renew, Reuse, Recycle). On top of that, various green activities such as fruit and garbage enzyme making demo, talk by Tzu Chi Foundation, documentary screening, recycling campaign were organised and green tips were disseminated to its employees through various internal communication channels. IOI’s business units - Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, Palm Garden Hotel, IOI Mall, IOI’s estates, refineries and factories locally and overseas - also supported this group event through various green activities organised at their respective premises.

  • Go Green at IOI Township
    IOI Properties Bhd organised a Go Green Day on 27 March 2010 morning at IOI Boulevard Puchong as part of IOI Group’s Earth Month Go Green campaign. With local artistes like Adrian Tan, TP Lim, Amy Wong, Aric Ho to entertain the audience with stage performances plus fruit enzymes and garbage enzyme demonstrations, exhibitions, eco-games, recycling activities, the objectives were to educate the local community on environmental conservation and encourage them to embrace the green lifestyle to fight the global warming.

  • Unplugged Earth Show
    In conjunction with Earth Hour, IOI Group organised an Unplugged Earth Show on 27 March 2010 from 7pm to 10pm to raise public awareness on the issues of global warming and climate change. Special artist performance by IOI Earth Hour Ambassador cum champion of Akademi Fantasia Season 1 Vince Chong and Francissca Peter, Drum Circle’s interactive rhythm performance, poi dancing, eco bazaar, Make-Your-Earth pledge activity and more were lined up for the audience during the event.


    IOI Group Executive Director Dato’ Lee and invited guest-of-honour Senior EXCO Member of Selangor cum ADUN of Kinrara, Puchong YB Teresa Kok as well as Malaysian Nature Society Executive Director Dr Loh were present. RM20,000 was pledged to MNS through the sale of IOI’s Earth Hour t-shirts and candlelights.


  • Earth Hour
    IOI made a united stand with Earth Hour to flick the switch from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on 28 March 2009 in a corporate responsibility call to fight global warming and take a positive action on climate change. All IOI local and international establishments such as IOI Properties in Puchong and Johor Bahru, leisure and hospitality hotels and malls – Putrajaya Marriott Hotel and Palm Garden Hotel, IOI Mall Puchong, Puteri Mart, IOI Mall Kulai, IOI Mart Kulai, as well as refineries and plants – Loders Croklaan (Asia, the Netherlands, North America and Canada), IOI Oleochemicals Penang, Pan Century (Oleochemical & Edible Oils) and IOI Edible Oils Sabah) were involved via various ways such as cut down on electricity consumption, safety campaigns, creative contests, e-mail blasts and more to save the Earth.

  • IOI Community Run
    The IOI Community Run is a highly anticipated community event that was launched in 2005 to promote healthy living and foster closer ties among the Puchong and nearby communities. Over the years, the event has drawn enthusiastic participants that are excited over the challenging run categories, lively performances, fun games, attractive prizes and sponsors plus endless delightful activities held for people of all ages. In conjunction with the run, funds are raised for various charitable organizations including selected orphanages and schools.

  • Rakan Cop Programme
    IOI together with the Police launched the Rakan Cop programme for the Puchong district on 10 March 2007 - with the aim to create a safer township and to forge better co-operation between the Police and the Puchong community. Amongst the measures taken include sponsoring Rakan Cop’s information board at various strategic locations in Puchong, and promoting anti-crime awareness/activities on IOI’s community website. The Rakan Cop programme encourages the public to act as police lookouts and provide information on crime to the Police’s Command Centre through its hotline and SMS.

  • Police Station
    IOI fully funded the construction of a police station complete with personnel living-quarters in Bandar Puchong Jaya, one of its flagship townships in Puchong. IOI also sponsored 10 patrol cars for that police station.
